Description: A dark brown colored ale with chocolate notes. Brewed using Select American organic malts, hops and ale yeast, similar to stout, but without the roasted characteristics and light in body with an earthy flavor and a clean crisp finish. An original dry porter we call the “Black Lite”.
Aroma: Coffee-like barley and chocolate malt aromas are prominent.
Appearance: Deep black in color. A thin, creamy, long-lasting tan head is characteristic of this dry porter.
Flavor: Mild sharpness from chocolate grains, and medium hop bitterness, provide a dry finish. Balancing factors of moderate fruitiness.
Mouthfeel: Medium body, with a creamy character. Low carbonation.
Comments: This is a similar version of what is otherwise known as American Brown Porter.
Ingredients: The dryness comes from the use of organic chocolate barley in addition to organic pale malt, moderate hop bitterness, and good attenuation. Water used in this porter has a carbonate hardness.
