Several years ago, I learned about home brewing from my CPA at a Rotary Club Meeting. Intrigued and surprised that I could ACTUALLY make my own beer to enjoy, I asked for a homebrew kit. That was 8 years ago. Since that time, my brewing increased as time moved on. Having gained confidence in my brewing ability with several hundred batches under my belt, I joined the local homebrew club, the Central Florida Homebrewers. From there I began competing my beers. Having several awards under my belt and with the assistance of others, I began my professional brewing career. Within a week of my decision to persue professional brewing, I secured an apprenticeship with what was at the time Orlando's only microbrewery. As time passed, and eventually that brewery closing, I grew anxious to get started on my own and began Orlando Brewing Partners. Orlando Brewing Partners sprang from the partnership of beer savy Orlando citizens, each bringing something unique to the group, from equipment to supplies to contacts, and yes, brewing talent. All of this planning brought forth the historic day of November 25th, 2002, when all of these dreams became a reality, and Orlando Brewing Partners had brewed its first batch of beer. Mutiple batches later, Orlando Brewing Partners, now Orlando's only microbrewery boasts a lineup of 5 distinct beers and produces another 8 brands under exclusive rights, and is enjoyed in many bars and restaurants throughout the Orlando area.
